Prompt: Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?

Prompt Response:  At my old school, we would have a lot of early release days where we left at 11 or even earlier. One day we had a release day in October and we left and went to an abandoned place and went and sat down. I was with my friends and they told me to go with them and at my old school it was a popular thing to go to an abandoned place and explore. We had to sneak around and run when we saw the police and the place was in an unsafe area so we had to be careful. This made me realize that I shouldn't put myself in those situations because anything could happen to me.

Summary: We analyzed a poem called "We real cool" and then we did a circle with branches to talk about the seven We they had said. We wrote what the author was trying to hint and what the moral was.

Reflection: In the poem, the seven kids would eventually die because of the seven actions they did. It made me realize that if I continued to keep doing that on release days anything could go wrong and my life could get cut short.
