What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?

 Prompt Response: I'm mostly proud of my work and my car because I work a lot to get everything I want. I paid half of my car and I like to drive in it and how I modified it as well. I work a lot to also pay my mom back because she paid the other half and I don't like owing people. I'm also proud of where my mom is from. I show it with pride because I know she went through a lot to get here and I want to represent where she came from.

Summary: In class today we read another poem called "I ,Too" and analyzed it as well. We then answered questions over it and we had to do a base for my project which is a mask I have to do about my cultural identity.

Reflection: Everyone has different cultures and we have embraced that and we rarely do. I realized I need to show what I like and what I do. Not everyone is the same just because we live in the same area or have a few things in common.

Prompt Response: A special place for me is the Royal Ballroom. Last year during January, me and my court started practicing for my 15's. In Hispanic culture it is a big deal and it lead till March 2. On that day I remember waking up so early and getting ready and putting my dress on. At the venue there was around 350 guests who came for me and in that moment it felt surreal. I will always that day where I danced with friends and family and earned a lot of gifts. Summary: In class we read about the "Navajo Creation Story" and analyzed it. Prompt: Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

Prompt Response:  A time I felt connected to nature is when I am sitting in my car or someone else's. Listening to music really loud and peaceful songs. I love having my windows down and the air hitting me. Looking outside at everything like the sky, trees, cars and the clouds. My mind is thinking but it is way relaxed and it feels nice feeling so free and no have to worry about anything in that moment. Summary: Today in class we talked about the culture and literature of Native Americans. Reflection: Learning about Native Americans made me realized how much they care for nature and how connected they were. I would want to be closer to nature how they were.

 Prompt Response: I have adapted pretty well of this course so well. One strength is that working in groups is beneficial because it can help if I don't understand something. One challenge will definitely be the blog posts because I know I will forget to do it and I will do some late. Summary: We took a test and worked on our PowerPoint. Reflection: Reading the myths made me realize that everyone interprets events differently.
