Prompt: Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

Prompt Response: One of my old friends was speaking about a topic that happened to me and my other friend but not to her. She did that after we stopped being friends. That changed the way I looked at her because I understood that not everyone is your friend and to never trust anyone with too much information. I understood that she didn't care about our feelings and instead cared about the person she told.

Prompt: Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Prompt Response: The most shocking story I have heard is when a guy saw an ice cream truck carry a body to a weird building and then the ice cream truck would follow him around. It stood out because they would appear at his house and gym late at night with the song playing. People agreed that it was unsafe and that he needs to change his locations so they don't find him anymore.

Prompt: Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

Prompt Response: A place I would say is my old school. The school was very strict on religion and had some weird rules which led to many issues. The good thing about it was that they were some nice teachers and people who would make it fun. Some teachers were actually happy about teaching and helping you understand the subject. It helped me become better at work and communicating because of the jobs I had with them.

Prompt: Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

Prompt Response: I have heard metamorphosis in science because they explain the change between an animal or plant. The way it was used would be like "Cockroaches were not immune to certain liquids but because of their metamorphosis later on, they became more immune to them." The context helped me understand it better a little bit.
